The Classic Button-Up

The button-up shirt has been around for ages.  It's simple, yet classy and looks good on everyone. With a wide variety of cuts, from the fitted cut to a more baggy one (like the shirts pictured above), it is flattering on every body type. The button up can be worn in a million different ways, for a wide variety of occasions.

Another one of the wonderful aspects of button up shirts is that they can be worn every season. Unlike sandals, scarves, tank tops or most other pieces, the button up works all year round. Now, that doesn't mean that this brown button up (above), looks good in the summer, but rather that the style can be worn in any and every season. For winter,  a dark brown tribal print paired with chocolate winter boots would be seasonably appropriate.
For spring or summer a lightly more pastel shade with delicate or floral jewelry works(above). Or for something brighter, a coral colored button up with bright teal jewelry and a light cardigan would work perfectly.

The layered look  is common with a solid colored button-up, like the one above. Layered with a knit jersey jacket or a khaki blazer, button-ups fall into a variety of styles. From the prim and proper school girl look with a form-fitted white button up, to a more casual 'Lumberjack' look with a plaid button up and jeans (below), the button up is an essential piece to every girl's closet, no matter what her style.
